Skar, Christ (1882? - 4 MAY 1947)

Christ Skar of Merrillan, father of Mrs. Forrest Thompson of Neillsville (Clark Co., Wis.), died Sunday morning at his home in Merrillan, death being caused by a cerebral hemorrhage. He was 64 years of age, and had been employed by the Omaha Railroad Co. for 35 years. For many years he has been foreman of the west end of the branch line between Neillsville and Merrillan.

Mr. Skar is survived by his wife, five children and 13 grandchildren. Besides Mrs. Thompson the children are: Mrs. Oscar Otto son, Fall Creek; Oscar Skar, Merrillan; Mrs. Clarence Brandsteder, Beloit; Mrs. Cecil Rossenbach, Belle Plaine, Iowa.

Mr. and Mrs. Thompson and children were in attendance at the funeral service, which were held Wednesday afternoon at the Methodist Church in Merrillan. The officiating pastor was Rev. Edward J. Sachtjen, pastor of the church. Burial took place in the Merrillan Cemetery.
