Schnabel, Ruth E. (9 MAY 1947)

Mrs. Ruth Eloise Schnabel and Lorenz Gilbert Langbecker, both of Neillsville (Clark Co., Wis.), were married at 2 o’clock Friday afternoon, May 9, 1947, in a single ring ceremony performed by the Rev. William A. Baumann, Pastor of St. John’s Lutheran Church, the ceremony taking place in the church parsonage. The bride is a daughter of Mrs. Tena and Edwin Hanchman. The groom is a grandson of the late Rev. Herman Brandt, who was for many years pastor of St. John’s Church here.

Attendants of the couple were Miss Grace Langbecker, sister of the groom, and Arrie Schwellenbach, cousin of the bride. The bride wore a street-length dress of blue crepe and her attendant wore a similar dress of rose. Each had a corsage of pink and white carnations. Miss Rochelle Schnabel, the bride’s eight-year-old daughter who was a member of the wedding party, wore a red rose.

Following the ceremony a reception was held for relatives and close friends at the home of Mrs. Louis Heintz, South Grand Avenue, the bride’s sister. The table was decorated with pink and white carnations and centered with a pink and white wedding cake, made by Mrs. Harry Flitter.

The groom is employed by the Nelson Muffler Co. The bride has been employed for some time in the office of County Treasurer Fradette and plans to continue her work. After May 15 they will reside in the bride’s house on South Grand Av. They left Friday evening on a short wedding trip.

Fritz Langbecker of Rhinelander was here for his brother’s wedding.
