Schroeder, Martha (Marriage - 17 October 1946)

In a ceremony performed on Thursday, October 17, in St. Paul, Martha Schroeder, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Schroeder, Neillsville, became the bride of 1st Sgt Harley Jake, son of Mr. and Mrs. William Jake, also of Neillsville. The single ring ceremony was performed by R. F. Ferguson, Justice of the Peace.

The bride wore a rose colored two-piece suit. Her flowers were white pom-poms with pink roses. They were attended by Mr. and Mrs. Frank Matas of Neillsville. The bride’s mother accompanied them.

The bride was graduated from the Neillsville High School with the class of 1942, and is at present employed in the office of Clerk of Court Ben Frantz. The groom also attended Neillsville High School. He has been in military service since October, 1941, leaving here with the Service Company. He served in the Pacific war area, and has also seen service in Europe. He left Monday to report to Camp Kilmer, N.J., on his way to Europe. Mrs. Jake will remain here for the present and expects to join her husband in about six months.
