Walk, Emma (6 JUL 1885 - 27 AUG 1947)

Mrs. John (Emma) Walk, 62, was interred in the Neillsville Cemetery Saturday, Aug. 30. Funeral services were conducted from the Georgas Funeral Home at 1:30 p.m., and at St. John’s Lutheran Church at 2 p.m.. Mrs. Walk died on Wednesday, Aug. 27, 1947, at her home.

Mrs. John Walk was born July 6, 1885, at Neillsville (Clark Co., Wis.), to Julius and Julia Tragsdorf. She was a lifelong resident of the community.

She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, charter member of the Lutheran Ladies Aid Society, and a charter member of the rural letter carriers auxiliary.

On Feb. 10, 1905, she was married to John Walk at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Neillsville. Five children were born to them, all of whom survive. They are Harold of Milwaukee, Oscar of Neillsville, Mrs. Alfred (Marie) Zillmer of Greenwood, Gertrude of Madison, and Mrs. William (Leona) Lembke of Wausau. Also surviving is her husband; two brothers, Frank Tragsdorf of Crandon and William Campman of Neillsville, and two sisters, Mrs. Frank (Bertha) Hemp of Neillsville and Mrs. Mollie Krause of Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Pallbearers were: Albert Marge, Claude Westphal, William Duge, Ernest Brown, Paul Bartell and Alvin Pagenkopf.

During the service Miss Carole Wang sang "The Old Rugged Cross" and "Heaven is My Home," accompanied by John Bremer at the organ.

Those in charge of the flowers were: Mrs. Georgia Holte, Mrs. J. Paulus, Mrs. E. Kleckner and Miss Clara Knoop.

Those from out of town attended the services were: Miss Gertrude Walk of Madison, Harold Walk and Mrs. Mollie Krause of Milwaukee, Rudolph Walk of Lewiston, Id., Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Zillmer and son of Greenwood, Frank Tragsdorf of Crandon, Mr. and Mrs. William Lembke, Mrs. A. Straub and Mrs. L. Lemke of Wausau; Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Tragsdorf of Mason City, Ia.; Mr. and Mrs. LaMare Tragsdorf and son of Madison; Mr. and Mrs. Walter hemp and family and Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Hemp and family of Wis. Rapids Mr. and Mrs. Louis Walk of Beloit; Mrs. Ross Harrington of Marshfield, and Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Mueller and Wayne of Vesper.
