John Vaughn, a former resident of Unity, Wisconsin, died Thursday afternoon at the Odd Fellows Home in Green Bay at the age of 84 years. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at the Unity Methodist church, Rev. Harvey Schall officiating, and internment was made in the Brighton cemetery.

A bachelor, Mr. Vaughn had lived in Unity all his life except for a short period in Austin, Minn., and one year in Spencer and the past five years in Green Bay. Born July 22, 1871, at Sun Prairie, he came here at the age of nine. He attended the Maple Grove country school and graduated from Unity High School in 1888.

After his father’s death in 1903, he took over the home farm. He was a former town clerk of the town of Unity and clerk of the Maple Grove School. He held many offices in the Methodist church and its Sunday school and was a member of the Odd Fellows Lodge and its Encampment.

Surviving him are two brothers, Ralph of Spencer and George of Madison. His mother died in 1919. Also preceding him in death were five brothers and sisters, Fred, Lillian, Charles, Mary and Nellie.
