Edblom, Randy (25 Nov. 1954 - 6 June 1956)

Randy Edblom, one year and seven months old son of Mr. and Mrs. Alvin E. Edblom, west of Unity, was instantly killed Wednesday morning when the dual rear wheel of a milk truck passed over his head. The accident occurred in the driveway of the farm of the child’s parents.

Carl Gottschalk of Colby, Route 3, age 38, who has been a milk hauler for 15 years for the Kasper Cheese Company of Unity, Route 1, was the driver of the truck.

Gottschalk told authorities he stopped the truck at once when he heard the boy’s two sisters scream and discovered the dead child, its head crushed by the heavy dual rear wheel.

The mother said she saw the truck enter the yard and had led the boy up to the house. Then she went inside. The child toddled back into the path of the departing truck.

The body is at the Lulloff Funeral Home in Colby, Wis.

*** Randy Kin Edblom is buried in the Evangelical Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in Brighton Township, Marathon County, Wisconsin.
