Foemmel, Violet (Marriage - 22 May 1946)

Miss Violet Foemmel, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. August Foemmel, Granton, and Walter Korth, son of Mr. and Mrs. Emil Korth, Granton, were married Wednesday, May 22, at 2 p.m. at the Emmanuel Evangelical Church in Chili. The Rev. S. A. Gutknecht officiated with the double ring ceremony.

The bride wore a gown of sheer ninon, fashioned with long fitted sleeves, alenum lace trim at the neckline, and the skirt with bows at the waist, ended in a peacock train. A tiara of seed pearls held her veil of illusion net, edged with val lace. She carried a bouquet of bridal roses, lilies, and melinas.

Miss Alvina Foemmel, sister of the bride, was maid of honor, and Miss Jane Crossman of Lake Mills was bridesmaid. Attendants for the groom were his brother, Wilburt Korth, and Warren Korth, his cousin. Marlyn Lindow and Robert Knoop were ushers.

Mrs. Albert Grimm played the "Flower Song" for the bridal procession and Miss Ethel Anderson sang two selections.

The bride is a graduate of the Granton High School and Central State Teachers’ College, Stevens Point. She has been teaching at the Elmwood School at Owen for the past two years. The groom also graduated from the Granton High School. He served three years with the army air corps, having completed 35 flying missions over Germany.

Following the ceremony a seven o’clock dinner was served to 40 guests at the home of the bride’s parents. Those present were Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Crossman and daughter Jane of Lake Mills; Miss Ethel Anderson and Dale Mikkelson, Oconto Falls; Mr. and Mrs. Louis Korth, son Warren, Marshfield; Mrs. William Korth and Miss Lydia Drescher of Neillsville; The Rev. and Mrs. Gutknecht and family, Mr. and Mrs. Ezra Schilling and family, Mrs. Fred Schilling and son Phillip, Mr. and Mrs. Emil Korth and family, Mr. and Mrs. Wenzel Lee and family, Miss Edna Mae Davis and Miss Geneva Lindow.

After a two-week wedding trip through Colorado and Wyoming the couple will be at home on the Albert Grimm farm near Chili.
