Hughes, Aileen (Marriage - 10 January 1948)

Miss Aileen Hughes, R. N., daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Hughes of Pleasant Ridge, and James Wheatley, son of Mrs. John Wheatley of Cleveland, O., were married at a 10 o’clock Mass in Our Lady of Peace Church January 10, (1948), in Cleveland. The couple arrived in Neillsville January 13 for a visit at the home of the bride’s parents.

Mrs. Wheatley was graduated from Neillsville High School in 1934 and the same year began nurse’s training in St. Anthony’s Hospital, Chicago. She completed her training in 1937, and since has been employed in Cleveland.

Mr. Wheatley is a graduate of Cathedral Latin High School in Cleveland and also attended John Carroll University in that city. His college work was interrupted by the war. He served three and one-half years in the army.

Mr. and Mrs. Wheatley expect to leave this month for Denver, Col., where they will make their home. He will be associated with an interior decorating firm in that city.

On Friday afternoon, neighbors and friends of the Hughes family met at their home to welcome the young couple and brought with them a shower of useful and suitable gifts.
