Herian, Minnie (14 March 1873 - 15 March 1948)

Funeral services for Minnie Herian, a lifetime resident of this community, will be held Friday morning, March 19, (1948), at 8:30 at the Cole Funeral Home and at 9 o’clock at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. The Rev. Fr. John J. Pritzl will read the requiem high mass. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Miss Herian died at 10:30 p.m. March 15 (1948) at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Vollrath, in the Town of Mead, where she had resided the past two years. She had been ill only about three days.

Minnie Herian, daughter of Joseph and Anna Herian, was born March 14, 1873, at the farm home in the Town of Pine Valley. She continued to make her home on the same farm, just south of the Neillsville city limits, until about two years ago. She was 75.

Miss Herian was a faithful member of St. Mary’s church and attended services regularly as long as her health permitted.

Surviving are two sisters and a brother: Mrs. Mary Blakeslee of Minneapolis, Minn., Mrs. Anna Maxwell of Elk Falls, Kan., and Henry Herian of Neillsville. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.

Minnie Herian Services:

Those from out-of-town here Friday to attend funeral services for Miss Minnie Herian were: Mrs. J. J. Steinhagen and Miss Alice Blakeslee, Minneapolis, Minn.; Mrs. Paul Kunkep, Sleepy Eye, Minn.; Mr. and Mrs. John Herian, Wisconsin Rapids; Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Vollrath and Mrs. Jake Speich, Greenwood.

Pallbearers were: Joseph Hartung, Walter Borde, Henry Wasserburger, Otto Miller, Walter Miller and Robert Frantz.

A Rosary service was held Thursday evening at the Cole Funeral Home. The Rev. Fr. John J. Pritzl officiated at the services held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Burial was in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
