Kegley, Mrs. Amos (Ann) (5 July, 1889 - 26 February 1948)

Mrs. Amos Kegley, a former Shortville resident, passed away very suddenly February 26 (1948), at her home near Lake Beulah.

Ann Johnson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Iver Johnson was born near Hillsboro, Vernon County July 5, 1889. She was united in marriage to Amos Kegley October 30, 1907. In 1913 they moved to Clark County and lived on farms near Shortville for several years. They moved to the vicinity of East Troy on March 1, 1924. In this community she gained many friends as she did in every community in which she lived, as she was interested in all community activities.

Mrs. Kegley is survived by her husband, Amos; four sons: Arlie and Gerald of Lake Beulah, Earl of San Diego, Cal.; and Lyle at home; and two daughters, Mrs. Eldon (Eva) Quam of Elkhorn, and Mrs. Donald (Leola) Alm of Chicago; 10 grandchildren, a brother and two sisters.

She was preceded in death by a son, Jesse, and a daughter, Beulah.

She was a member of the St. James Methodist Church in East Troy.

Funeral services were conducted from the St. James Methodist Church March 1st, by Rev. Arthur L. Huff, assisted by a former pastor, Rev. O. L. Merritt. Burial was made at the Oak Ridge Cemetery, near East Troy.
