Tyznik, Roman "Ray" (9 Aug. 1925 - 25 July 2008)

Roman Tyznik

Roman "Ray" Tyznik, 82, died at his home Friday, July 25, 2008, in the town of Thorp.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 30, at St. Mary's Polish National Catholic Church in Lublin. The Rev. Marion Talaga will officiate and burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Ray's family.

Visitations will be at Thorp Funeral Home from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, July 29, with a 7 p.m. prayer service and from 9:30 a.m. at the church Wednesday until time of services.

Tyznik was born Aug. 9, 1925, in the Lublin area Walter Sr. and Emma (Lubrant) Tyznik. Roman and Veronica Romanowski were married Nov. 27, 1954, at St. Mary's Polish National Catholic Church in Lublin. They purchased the Romanowski farm and raised their family and farmed together until retiring in 1997.

He is survived by his wife, Veronica Tyznik of Thorp and his children Margaret (Jim Szemraj) of Wentzville, Mo., Joanne (Steve) Telisczak of Gilman, Kenneth Tyznik of Thorp and Alan (Desilyn) Tyznik of Thorp. He is further survived by eight and one sister, Ruth Twardowski of Eau Claire.
