Gudrun 'Peggy' Zsido

OWEN -- Gudrun "Peggy" Zsido, formerly Gudrun Havelin, 99, of Pewaukee, formerly of Owen, died Wednesday, Aug. 6, 2008, at Heartland Health Care Center in Pewaukee.

Funeral services are tentatively scheduled for 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 9, 2008, at The Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home in Owen. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery in the town of Hixon.

Friends may call from 11 a.m. until service time Saturday at the funeral home.

Gudrun 'Peggy' Zsido

OWEN -- Gudrun "Peggy" Zsido, formerly Gudrun Havelin, 99 years, of Pewaukee, formerly of Owen, found peace on Wednesday, Aug. 6, 2008, at the Heartland Health Care Center in Pewaukee where she had resided since Jan 16, 2006.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 9, 2008, at the Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home in Owen. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery in the town of Hixon.

Friends may call from 11 a.m. until time of service Saturday at the funeral home in Owen. Peggy was born in Guldbransdalen Valley, Norway, on March 3, 1909, to Harold and Gina Bergum. In 1914, she came to the United States with her parents, five brothers and three sisters and settled in Greenwood. Peggy later moved to Milwaukee, where she was employed as a nanny. In 1937, she was united in marriage to Ellerd Havelin, who preceded her in death in 1961.

They were the loving parents of one daughter, Virginia (Tom) Petruzates of Hubertus; four grandchildren, Michael (Beth) Petruzates of Clintonville, Debra (Bob) Kraemer of Sussex, Steven (Denise) Petruzates of Kiel, and Douglas Petruzates of Germantown; nine great-grandchildren, Rob, Nicole, Jacob, Hunter, Samuel, Megan, Jessica, Alex and Dane; several nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.

From 1962 until her retirement in 1974, Peggy worked in the dietary department at St. Mary's Hospital in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She then married John Zsido, who also preceded her in death, as well as her brothers and sisters.

Peggy enjoyed playing cards and socializing and loved to dance the waltz and the polka. Her family remembers her as being a great cook. She spent the last two-and-a-half years at the Heartland Care Center in Pewaukee and will be deeply missed by her family.
