Wurthmann, Helen D. (Marriage - March 1948)

The marriage of Miss Helen D. Wurthmann and John Read Jackson, both of Neillsville took place Easter Sunday afternoon in the First Methodist Church in Wausau, the pastor of the church, the Rev. Blake, performing the double ring ceremony. The bride is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. C. Wurthmann of Wausau, and the groom is a son of Mr. and Mrs. William Jackson of Shell Lake.

The bride was given in marriage by her father. She chose for her marriage a navy gabardine suit and had white accessories. Her flowers were a corsage of gardenias.

Attendants were Miss Lillian Wurthmann, Wausau, sister of the bride, as maid of honor, and Kenneth Wedin of Kewaunee, as best man. Darrel Maxey of Sheboygan served as usher.

A reception for 80 guests was held at the church, which was decorated appropriately for the Easter season.

The bride is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin and a member of Phi Upsilon Omicron sorority. She is the Clark County home agent. The groom is also a graduate of the University of Wisconsin and a member of Delta Theta Sigma fraternity. He is a soil conservationist and is employed in the local conservation office.

After April 5, Mr. and Mrs. Jackson will be at home in the Hubing apartments on South Hewett Street.
