Sonheim, John J. Sr. (1873 - 9 May 1948)

Funeral services for John J. Sonheim Sr., 75, of the Town of Levis, who died May 9, (1948) at his farm home, were held May 14, at 1:30 p.m. at the Georgas Funeral Home and at 2:00 p.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church of Neillsville, with the Reverend William Lauterbach officiating. Burial took place in the Neillsville City Cemetery.

Pallbearers were: William Neubecker, Matt Neubecker, Philip Genteman, Ernest Uhlrich, Carl Spaete and Andrew Kurasz. John Brandt sang "Last Mich Gehen," accompanied by Carol Wang at the organ.

From out-of-town came, Mrs. Catherine Bishop, of Skokie, Illinois, a daughter; Mrs. Evelyn Ludwick, Jr., and daughter, of Puyallup, Washington, a daughter; Mr. and Mrs. Frank Sonheim and sons, of Wisconsin Rapids, (Frank is a son of the deceased; Henry Sonheim, another son, of Bogota, N. J.; Mr. and Mrs. Bohumil Bohac of Merrillan, (Caroline, Mrs. Bohac is a daughter).
