Franciscan nun celebrates 60 years of religious service

A Franciscan Sister of Perpetual Adoration with ties to the area recently celebrated her diamond jubilee, marking 60 years of vowed religious life.

Sister Jolita Brill, originally of Colby, entered St. Rose Convent. She served as a homemaker for 32 years in convent homes in Iowa, Washington and Wisconsin. Eleven of those years were spent at St. Michael’s home, La Crosse.

From 1980 to 2001, Sister Brill dedicated herself to driving for the sisters retired at St. Rose. She retired in 2001 at St. Rose Convent-Clare Apartments.

A jubilee celebration was held at St. Rose Convent in La Crosse on April 19.

Based in La Crosse, the Franciscan Sisters of the perpetual Adoration consists of about 350 women religious engaged in furthering the work of the Catholic Church and the gospel.
