Neitzel, Ronald (23 July 1944 - 24 July 2008)

Ronald Neitzel, 64, Unity died Thursday, July 24, 2008 at his residence in Unity.

At Ronald’s request, his ashes will be returned to the mountains in Montana and a private family service will be scheduled for a later time.

Ronald was born July 23, 1944, in Lansing, MI, to Charles and Ruth (Gilbertson) Neitzel.

He and his family moved into the area where Ronald attended Brady grade school in Curtiss and graduated from Colby High School.

Ronald entered into his military service by joining the Army on Sep 20, 1962, and was stationed in West Germany with the 212th Artillery Group. He was honorably discharged from the Army on May 18, 1964.

On June 8, 1968, Ron married Carol Gottschalk. They had two children, LaVonne and Cameron. They were later divorced.

He lived most of his adult life living and working in Montana. Ronald enjoyed hunting, fishing, motorcycles and flying.

Ronald is survived by his mother Ruth Neitzel, Unity, his daughter LaVonne Fachner, Washington State; his son Cameron Neitzel, Fargo, ND, three grandchildren; brothers and sisters Robert Neitzel, Spencer, Beverly Utke, Owen, Sandra (Boyd) Plummer, Unity and Rodney Neitzel, New Castle, WY.

He was predeceased in death by his father Charles and one brother, Michael.

Maurina-Schilling Funeral home of Abbotsford is assisting Ronald’s family with arrangements.
