Mayvin M. Hendrickson, 87, Marshfield, formerly of Greenwood, died peacefully at her home at Norris Manor on Thursday, Aug. 14, 2008. A memorial service was held on Wednesday, Aug. 20, at Granton United Methodist Church, Granton.

Mayvin M. Poppe was born on Dec. 15, 1920, in Longwood, to George and Tillie (nee Horn) Poppe. She was raised on the family farm, attended the Poppe School, and graduated from Greenwood High School in 1938. She then attended the Spencerian Business College in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. After college she returned to Clark County and was employed at the courthouse in Neillsville. She married Arthur Hendrickson on May 22, 1943, in Greenwood. Together they farmed in the town of Beaver. Upon retirement, they moved to Greenwood where her husband passed away in 1990, and she moved to Marshfield in 1992. She was a dedicated volunteer at the Senior Craft Shop and the Marshfield Care Center, where she made many new friends. She touched many lives and will be sadly missed.

She loved spending time with her family, Ron (Eunice) Hendrickson, Spencer, Larry (Mary) Hendrickson, Johnston, Iowa, and Randy (Sharon) Hendrickson, Neillsville; 13 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren—all of whom were very special to her.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Art; one brother, Elery Poppe; and one sister, Violet Wadzinski.

A memorial will be established at a later date.
