Bessie Warner is to teach this year in Perkinstown.

J.R. Williams and family were Loyal visitors Monday.

T.H. Barber of Withee passed through town yesterday.

Mrs. Geo. Cummings left for Hixton Monday morning.

Oscar Fricke was over in the Unity country Friday on business.

Letelsia Cook is teaching a school between Loyal and Spencer.

Thirty-nine land seekers ate dinner at Greenwood hotels yesterday.

James Norris visited at Loyal Monday afternoon—playing truant.

Girl wanted, a good girl to do housework.—Mrs. R. Sperbeck.

Geo. Schluechter of Fifield is clerking for Franckenberg & Fricke.

Ella Brown of Neillsville is visiting her aunt, Mrs. Wm. Wesenberg.

Naomi Carpenter is visiting friends in the northern part of the county.

Mesdames W.A. Calder and Henry L. Brooks of Chippewa Falls have been visiting the past week at the home of W.C. Brooks.

The regular monthly meeting of the E. F. U. will be held tomorrow, Saturday, night at eight o’clock in Rossman’s hall.

Ed Buker now enjoys the title of "Push," he having been promoted to the charge of local interests for the Roddis Veneer Co.

Rev. and Mrs. C.R. Scafe returned Friday morning from Melrose where they had prominent parts in a county Sunday school rally.

A son of D. Dickson of Neillsville was killed Monday by the accidental discharge of a shot gun just as he was passing through a gate.

Wm. Pounder arrived Tuesday morning from Grand Forks, British Columbia, for a visit with his wife and mother, Mrs. Crane.

Mayme Palms went to Black River Falls Monday morning to do some special work in stenography for attorney Perry for a couple of weeks.

Mesdames Victor and Mike Hendrickson accompanied Pa Wallis on his Neillsville trip Tuesday, they being on their way to Whitehall for a visit.

The Ladies’ Aid society were entertained last Friday by Mrs. Wm. Trowbridge. Mr. Trowbridge came up with a team and took them down.

$10 will take the lady’s bicycle now at this office. Its [sic] not as nice looking as some new ones, but the quality is there. Come quickly if you want it.

Robert Day is recovering from a serious injury to his left thigh caused by slipping on a hemlock log, tearing his thigh on a sharp knot so badly that stitches were necessary to bring the flesh together.

The Thursday club held their annual picnic in Lucas’ grove last Thursday afternoon, the gentlemen taking supper with the ladies. It is needless to say that all had a most enjoyable time.

Lost, a baby’s lace hood on road between Greenwood and Withee, Wednesday morning. Finder will receive reward by leaving same or mailing to Mrs. W.C. Brooks, three miles south of Greenwood.
