Kaliebe, Malinda (Marriage - 26 June 1948)

Miss Malinda Kaliebe, called "the girl with a smile" by fellow-workers at the Times in Milwaukee, became the bride of Howard A. Canfield, son of Mrs. Victor F. Krejci, of Granton, in Milwaukee on Saturday, June 26, (1948).

Mrs. Canfield is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank R. Kaliebe of Milwaukee, and is a native of that city. Mr. Canfield served with the Neillsville Service Company during World War II and since his discharge has been employed in an electric shop in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. For many years he made his home with his grandmother, Mrs. Eva Canfield, on Granton, Rt.1.

The ceremony took place in St. Stephen’s Lutheran Church, with the Rev. H. J. Eggold officiating. A reception followed in the Bavarian Club. Matron of honor was Mrs. Lois Kaliebe, sister-in-law of the bride; and best man was Frank R. Kaliebe.

The couple will reside in Milwaukee following a honeymoon trip to Chicago.
