Jochimsen, Wyllis "Buster" A. (4 APR 1924 - 12 AUG 2013)

Wyllis "Buster" A. Jochimsen, 89, Town of Little Black, died on Monday, Aug. 12 at his home, while under the care of his family and hospice.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Aug. 17 at 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Stetsonville, with Father Lourdu Mandapati, Father Frederick Brost and Deacon Joe Roe officiating.

Interment of his cremated remains will take place at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery in Stetsonville. Honorary pallbearers are Mathew Sperl, T.J. and Sean Anderson, Lane Ruch, Andrew Krug, Abby Olson, and Hunter, Logan, Keith, Adam and Trenton Jochimsen.

Visitation will be held at Hemer Funeral Home in Medford on Friday, Aug. 16 from 4 to 8 p.m., with a 7 p.m. Catholic prayer service, and at the church on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of service.

Wyllis Jochimsen was born on April 4, 1924 in the Town of Little Black to the late Awald and Clara (White) Jochimsen. He attended Little Black Grade School and was a 1942 graduate of Medford High School.

On May 24, 1949 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, he married Florina J. Boehlen, who survives. He farmed his entire life in the Town of Little Black, and also worked at Damm Sawmill in Stetsonville, E.J. Crane Feed Mill and Bootzin Feed Mill, both in Medford.

He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, NFO, and Council No. 1744 Knights of Columbus, and served on the boards of Little Black Township, Taylor County, Pleasant View Cheese Factory, Stetsonville Community Center and Medford Co-op. He enjoyed pitching horseshoes, playing cards, fishing, horses driving in the country, baseball games, spoiling his grandchildren and spending time with his family.

In addition to his wife, survivors include 11 children, Karleen (Ron) Sperl, Sherry (Chuck) Anderson and Gail Jochimsen, all of Stetsonville, Lynn (Dianne) Jochimsen, Bryan (Melinda) Jochimsen, Jay (Jen) Jochimsen and Penny (Guy) Olson, all of Medford, Kurt (Pam) Jochimsen of Stratford, Roy (Kathy) Jochimsen and Beth Jochimsen, both of Withee, and Sara (Gary) Krug of Exeland; two brothers, Winston "Jake" Jochimsen of Medford and Willard (Pat) Jochimsen of Eau Claire; a sister-in-law, Marjorie Jochimsen of Medford; 35 grandchildren; and 47 great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a great-grandson, Deagan Jochimsen, a brother, Wayne "Shorty" Jochimsen, and a sister-in-law, Janet Jochimsen.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be given to the family to be designated at a later date.
