Ary Pvt. Robert E. Hopkins, Jr., recently began six months of active duty training at Fort Leonard Wood, Mo., under the Reserve Foregs Act. Hopkins is receiving eight weeks of basic combat training which will be followed by advance individual and unit training. Men volunteering for the six-month tour of active duty are permitted to finish their military obligation in local Army Reserve or National Guard units. The 17-year-old soldier is a 1956 graduate of Central High School in Springfield, Mo.
