Smith, Zona (Marriage - 7 August 1948)

Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Smith, long-time residents of Neillsville and now of Milwaukee, announce the marriage of their daughter, Zona, to Laurence C. Rosenstock of Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

The wedding took place Saturday, August 7, (1948) at the Bethany Lutheran Church in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The bride was escorted by her father. Her wedding gown was of white with satin bodice and sleeves; and a square yoke and neck, trimmed in wide lace. The marquisette skirt had lace scalloping around the bottom and a long train. Her fingertip veil fell from a pearl headpiece. She carried white roses.

Maid-of-honor was Miss Gloria Austin, a cousin. Bridesmaid was Miss Iva Smith, a sister. The flower girl was Kathy Free. Attendants of the groom were Ray Kayas and Roy Degley.

A wedding dinner was served at the home of the bride’s parents to 42 guests. At 8 o’clock a reception was given to 200 relatives and friends at the Silver Spring ballroom.

Guests included the following from Neillsville: Mr. and Mrs. James West and family, Kathy Bartz, Mr. and Mrs. George Kuehn and family; Mr. and Mrs. Joe Kernz, Jr., George West, Mrs. Nettie Smith, Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Schmidt, Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Keuer and Irene.

The young people will make their home at 208 East Concordia, Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
