Local and Personal

Mrs. Lilly Iermouth of Moran Hills, Calif. Came to spend the summer at the home of her brother T. H. Barber.

Mrs. And Mrs. Jacob Christensen and daughter Eleanora of Frenchtown left of Thursday for Iowa to visit relatives.

Mrs. C. Lange and daughters returned on Friday to their home in Omaha after a visit with relatives.

Henry Heinzel was in Curtiss on business Thursday.

John V. Sturner and Ben Riplinger drove up to Tomahawk to where the women folks are for an outing and fishing trip.

Leonard Bush and family returned Thursday from their trip to his old home near Waupun. Reports a good time.

Fred Johnson and family of Colby drove over Thursday evening to call on F. A. Ecke returning in the late evening.

Mr. Herrick and son from Redwing, Minnesota, an uncle and cousin of Mr. C. H. Ravy stopped Monday evening. They are on a motoring trip through the country. He is also an uncle of Grant Herrick our mail man.

Otto Olson has been the mail man for Herrick for the last week.

Grant Herrick, Otto Olson, Albert Koeling, C. Jackel and many others drove over to Medford to see the colored team play Medford Tuesday.

Miss Viola Goebel has returned from a weeks vacation and is not back in the bank again.

Joe Cliezic of Hilton Jct. has been visiting his brothers Frank and Felix of Curtiss. He leaves for home Tuesday.

Bennin Olson from Rice Lake is visiting at his uncles Con Olson this week.

H. W. Gillette has several "Hair Cuts." Fellows call and get one when in town.

Sam Mam who lives North of Curtiss hauled another big load of cheese to town Friday.

Joe and Archie Ackerman drove over from Owen Wednesday evening en-route home. They boys are working at Owen, and know where to get their hair cut to suit them. Call on Gillette of course.

Mrs. Kund Neilsen left on Friday for St. Paul to spend the week end with her husband.

Miss Anea Christensen left on Friday for Minneapolis.

K. J. Ammentorp and daughter Marie left on Saturday for Minneapolis. Miss Marie will take a course in music at the McPhails School.

Roy Eddy and father and Frank Schuman drove up from Sparta Friday called on H. W. Gillette while there Mr. Gillette resided at Sparta for 8 years.

Mrs. A. C. Wyom and daughter of Ashland that has been visiting at her sisters Mrs. H. W. Gillette returned home Saturday.

Mr. and Mrs. Albert Johnson drove up from Riplinger Sunday to gather a few strawberries out of his garden here.

Jake Johnson and wife and children and Mr. and Mrs. B. B. Green and Stacy motored out to the lake for a Sunday outing and they caught a nice mess of fish. Returned in the evening.

Ralph Green, Bob Green, R. Hawks drove up to Maringo on a sighing trip Friday.

Mr. and Mrs. John Zasoba drove over from Withee Sunday evening to see his parents who reside here.

Lester Eckes says; "Boys don’t go swimming in the hot sun. I know as I have a beautiful sunburned back and it some sore. Just take warning."

Wm. Kriplian, Ford salesman at Dorchester was a Curtiss caller Friday.

Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Hulhl left Friday for New Holstein, where they attended the 7th anniversary of the City New Holstein, and the Turnfest which was held there Saturday and Sunday.

Stevenson and Berger had placed on their garage a large new electric sign advertising their agency for Chevrolet cars. The sign is on of the best placed in the village and can be read for a long distance by the tourist in the night as well as in the day time.

Miss Elizabeth Hansen returned home on Saturday morning from Kiel.

Emil Ammentorp was up from Eau Claire on Thursday.

Miss Carrie Lorensen left on Friday evening for Chicago for a week’s visit.

Mr. and Mrs. Uffe Jensen came Thursday from Dakota.

Rev. Bauer returned Wednesday from the annual conference at ????lmore.

Will Williams while doing some screening in front of the hardware store got a piece of steel in his eye and had to have Dr. Dykes remove the obstacle, his eye is very sore by the sight was not impaired.

The Shadows of Conscience was well attended Friday evening.

Mr. E. Hamerdinger did shopping in Curtiss Saturday.

Mrs. Louis Schroeder and daughter ??ulla did some shopping at Owen Thursday. While there had some dental work done.

T. B. Peterman and wife motored to Chicago Thursday and will go by that to Cleveland and other Eastern cities before returning home.
