Moen, Ruth Lucille #2 (2 AUG 1939)

In a simple ceremony at 7:30 in the evening of August 2nd, 1939, Miss Ruth Lucille Moen, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Moen, and William Lawrence Melvin, son of Mr. and Mrs. James Melvin, were united in marriage at the Presbyterian Parsonage, Edgar. Dr. E. L. Hoover read the marriage service.

Mr. and Mrs. Gay Anderson of Abbotsford were the couple’s only attendants.

For her marriage the bride wore a street length frock of powder blue crepe, a gray hat and white accessories. She carried a sheaf of gladioli of variegated colors.

Mrs. Anderson wore a crepe dress, the color of ashes, of roses with matching hat and white accessories. Her bouquet was made of a shower of clarkias.

Friends and neighbors gathered at the home of the groom’s parents in the evening and gave them a charivari.

Mr. and Mrs. Melvin are making their home with Mr. and Mrs. James Melvin on the farm just east of Abbotsford, Wis.
