Todd, Maxine (Marriage - 25 September 1948)

At 2:30 Saturday afternoon, September 25, (1948), Miss Maxine Todd, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bert Todd of Granton, R3, and Lyle Cattanach, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Cattanach, Granton, R2, were united in marriage at the Sherwood Community Church. The Rev. Frederick H. Giles of Marshfield officiated.

The bride, who was given away by her father, was attired in a gown of sheer marquisette with sweetheart neckline and large, puff sleeves that became tight fitting at the elbows and coming to points at the wrist. Her fingertip veil, edged with lace, fell from a tiara of seed pearls. She carried a colonial bouquet of white gladioli and peach rose buds, with a large yellow chrysanthemum forming the center.

The bride’s sister, Miss Becky Todd, as maid of honor, was attired in a pink sheer brocaded gown with fitted bodice, sweetheart neckline and a pleated peek-a-boo hooped skirt. A matching veil formed her headdress. Her bouquet was a colonial one of pink and white carnations. The bridesmaid, Miss Margaret Cattanach, sister of the groom, was dressed identically in blue.

Gayle Booth, Chili, niece of the bride, acted as flower girl in yellow taffeta, fashioned like the others with a white veil for her headdress.

Attending the groom were Craig Cattanach, a brother of the groom, as bestman, and Russell Todd, the bride’s brother, as groomsman. Ushers were Dale Cattanach and Alfred Fields.

Following the ceremony a reception was held for 100 guests at the home of the bride’s parents.

Mrs. Cattanach, a graduate of Granton High School, has been employed on the office force at Roddis Veneer and Lumber Co. Her husband is a graduate of the Marshfield High School.

After a honeymoon in northern Wisconsin the couple will reside on his farm near Nasonville.
