Porter, Leora (Marriage - 21 October 1948)

Miss Leora Porter of Loyal became the bride of Frederick Sell, also of Loyal, October 21, (1948), at a 1:45 p.m. ceremony in the parsonage of the Trinity Lutheran Church, in the presence of members of their immediate families. The Rev. J. C. Langholz performed the double ring ceremony. Miss Porter, who is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Manly Porter of Riplinger, wore a frock of navy blue, and a corsage of pink and white carnations. Her matron of honor, Mrs. Thomas Edmonton, sister of the groom, was also dressed in navy blue, and her corsage was pink and yellow carnations.

Thomas Edmonton served as his brother’s bestman.

Twenty guests were entertained at supper at the home of the bride’s brother and his wife, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Porter. Centering the table decorations was a three-tiered wedding cake trimmed in pink, silver and white.

The couple will reside at the groom’s farm home in the Loyal community.
