CURTISS MAN GETS HIGH HONORS AT WEST POINT
Among the newly appointed Cadet Officers and Cadet Non-Commissioned Officers in the Corps of Cadets, United States Military Academy, West Point, New York, is Cadet Norman A. Matthias. He has just been appointed Lieutenant.
These appointments are greatly coveted, and represent the merited reward of superior work during the past three years.
Mr. Matthias is the son of Mr. and Mrs. N. W. Matthias, of Curtiss, Wisconsin. He was appointed to the Academy from the National Guard.
Among other things Cadet Matthias has been a member of the Championship Intramural Baseball Team, and the Summer Camp Team. He has also qualified as Rifle Sharp-shooter and Pistol Marksman.
Cadet Matthias is now one of the member of the First Class (senior) detail, who are instructing the new class (plebes) who entered the Academy on July 1st.
