Miss Martha Hermansen, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Marcus Hermansen of Curtiss, Wis. (Clark Co., Wis.), and Harold Laabs, son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Laabs of Curtiss, were married Tuesday afternoon at a three o’clock ceremony performed at the Norwegian Lutheran Church at Curtiss, the Rev. W. L. Anderson officiating at the nuptials.

The bride wore a slate blue street dress with black accessories, a gold headband and small veil, and carried a bouquet of blue orchids.

Her maid of honor, Miss Mary Thompson, wore a bubonnet street dress with black accessories and carried a bouquet of white gardenias. Frederick Laabs was best man.

During the marriage service, John Erickson sang "I Love You Truly" and Miss Ruth Thompson played "The Bridal Chorus" from Lohengrin.

After the ceremony a five o’clock supper was served to immediate family at the home of the bride’s parents. In the evening a wedding dance was held at the Curtiss Hall.

Mr. and Mrs. Laabs will make a two weeks’ tour of the southern states. Mrs. Laabs graduated from the Owen High School in 1937 and River Falls State Teachers College in 1939, and taught school at Sunnyside School near Loyal for the past school year.

The groom attended Abbotsford High School and Wentworth Military Academy at Lexington, Mo., and is now engaged as a cheesemaker.

Out of town guests who attended the wedding were Henry Hermansen, Berkert, Ind.; Glen Laabs, Sullivan, Ind.; Herman Laabs, Blackwell, Okla.; Mr. and Mrs. George Pease, Lyle Tullis and Edgar Tullis, Madison.
