Ure, Muriel I. (23 Dec. 1933 - 1 Sept. 2008)

GRANTON Muriel I. "Mim" Ure, 74, of Granton died Sept. 1, 2008, at House of the Dove, Marshfield.

A memorial service will be held at a later date, and a complete obituary will be published at a later date.

Buchanan Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.

GRANTON Muriel I. "Mim" Ure, 74, of W2278 Highway 10, Granton, died at 1:07 p.m. Monday, Sept. 1, 2008, at the House of the Dove Hospice Home in Marshfield.

Memorial service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 13, 2008, at Christ Lutheran Church in Chili. The Rev. John Trewyn will officiate. Burial will be in the town of Lynn Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 12, at Buchanan Funeral Home in Neillsville and from 9:30 a.m. to service time Saturday at the church in Chili. Muriel was born Dec. 23, 1933, in the town of Lynn to Robert and Lula (Sternitzky) Ure. She attended Sunbeam School and Lynn and was a graduate of the Granton High School class of 1953. She was employed at Roddis Company and later at Weyerhaeuser for 44 years, retiring at age 65. Muriel loved her family and friends dearly. Her most treasured times were spent visiting with them. She enjoyed country and western music, rodeos and traveling throughout the United States, especially to dude ranches, the Calgary Stampede and Canada.

Muriel was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, Chili. She lived her life as a good Christian lady and ended it with a courageous battle with lung cancer. It was very special to Muriel to be a godmother for four loved ones, her nephew, Ted Ure, her niece, Susan (Ure) Heiting, great-nephew, Nicholas Anding, and the daughter of a close friend.

She is survived by her brothers and sister, Lloyd (Bev) Ure, Granton, Ronald "Pete" Ure, Rockford, Ill., and Rita (Duane) Rollins, Chili. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews, Deborah (Neil) Cronin, N.C., Kim Schmidt, Bradley (Lori) Schmidt and Ned (Kris) Schmidt, all of Neillsville, Cindy Ure, Granton, Barbara (Gordon) Anding, Granton, Susan (Steven) Heiting, Marshfield, Dale Rollins, Chili, Mike Rollins, Granton, Ricky (Pam) Rollins, Chili, Bob (Julie) Rollins, Marshfield, Ted (Nancy) Ure, Poplar Grove, Ill., Donna (Burdette) Coberly, Boscobel, Mary Lopez, Rockford, Ill., and Ed (Christy) Ure, McChesney Park, Ill. Great-nieces and great-nephews further surviving are Joshua, Adam and Tristana Coberly, Jim Tyndall, Katie Cronin, Amiee Clott, Dan and Dylan Schmidt, Russell and Frank Schmidt, Joel and Natasha Carolfi, Nicholas Anding, James and Mary Rollins, Tony Rollins, Cody and Brooke Rollins, Tyler Rollins, Austin and Alex Ure, Ryan Ure, and Chad, Chris, Cody and Catrina Lopez. Muriel was preceded in death by her sister, Lila Schmidt; brother-in-law, Urban Schmidt; sister-in-law, Vicky Ure; great-niece, Carlee Ure; and great-nephew, Carl Tyndall.

Memorials to the House of the Dove in Marshfield have been suggested.
