High, Curvin M. (13 July 1958 - 11 Sept. 2008)

UNITY, WIS. -  Curvin M. High, 50, of Unity, Wisconsin, died Thursday, Sept. 11, 2008, at his residence surrounded by his loving family and under the care of Ministry Home Care Hospice of Marshfield. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Sept. 15, 2008, at Bethany Mennonite Church in the town of Eau Pleine in Marathon County. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday at the church.

The Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home of Abbotsford is assisting the family with arrangements.

Curvin was born July 13, 1958, in Pennsylvania to John and Nora (Martin) High. Following his education, Curvin returned to work on his father's dairy farm. On Aug. 19, 1978, Curvin married Dawn Clugston at Mount Pleasant Mennonite Church in Illinois. They moved to Mount Vernon, Ill., where Curvin worked on the oil fields moving heavy equipment. In 1990 Curvin and Dawn purchased a cattle farm and started a pallet-making operation while living in Illinois. They moved to the Unity area in 2002 where Curvin and Dawn continued their bakery operation and started raising veal calves up until Curvin became ill.

Curvin is survived by his wife Dawn of Unity; his children, Nevin High, Colby, Rosalyn High, Unity, Thomas Conrad High, Unity, Melissa High, Unity, and Carlita High, Unity. He is also survived by his parents, John and Nora High of Pennsylvania; and his siblings, David (Lavina) High, Pennsylvania, John (Doreen) High Jr., Illinois, Irene Martin, Illinois, Karen (Leon) Nolt, Pennsylvania, Mark (Cheryl) High, Illinois, and Lorraine (Joni) Moser, Pennsylvania.
