Hewettville (13 Apr 1916)

Hollie Moffatt visited at Will Ritchie’s Tuesday evening.

Edith Wood called at Mrs. Ritchie’s Thursday.

Homer Wood rented 40 acres of land of Homer Root on Wedges Creek. He expects to have a saloon and restaurant there.

Mrs. W. Dux has a gander for sale or trade for chickens.

Mrs. Ritchie has a heavy work horse for sale or trade for two good cows.

Josie Wood visited Will Ritchie Wednesday.

Will Ritchie and Ray Cook took 12 calves to Neillsville Tuesday.

Mrs. W. Dux received word that her sister, Mrs. Hattie Fuller, died on April 8, 1916, in Manning, N.D. She leaves her husband and three children, the youngest a year and a half old, to mourn her loss.
Farewell, dear sister, sweet thy rest, Weary with years and worn with pain,
Farewell till some happy place, We shall behold thy face again.
‘Tis ours to miss thee all our years, And tender memories of thee keep,
Thine in the Lord to rest, for so He giveth his beloved sleep.
