Gets Jail Sentence

Joe Nauertz, a renter on what is known as the Schmidt farm, owned by A. B. Marsh, two miles south of Neillsville, was arrested Thursday by Deputy Hewett on a charge of making moonshine liquor. Several days previous, a son of Nauertz, a boy 16 or 17 years of age, was found in the boiler room at the jail where he said he had crawled to get warm. He was permitted to stay about the jail for a day or two and from his talk it seemed that he had run away from home because his father was drinking and misused him.
