Mary Josephine Klick was born on March 19, 1926, in Thorp, WI to John and Pearl (Kmieciak) Klick. She was raised on the family farm and received her education at Pioneer School. After completing her education, Mary worked at home before moving to South St. Paul, where she worked for Armour Meat Packers. She later worked at Pabst Brewery, in Milwaukee, for a short time, and then moved back to Thorp and worked for Blue Moon Cheese. Mary met Wayne Sondgeroth and they were united in marriage on May 29, 1947 at St. Hedwig Catholic Church in Thorp. Mary enrolled in and completed a CNA course through the Stanley Hospital in the mid 1970’s. They farmed in the Thorp area until 1978 when they moved into town. She resided in Thorp until entering the Clark County Health Care Center in January 2007.

She was a member of St. Bernard-St. Hedwig Catholic Church and its PCCW, a former member of P.N.A., and was a member of the Rainbow Homemakers Club. Mary had many interests, but especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, shopping, painting ceramics, and gardening.

Mary will be sadly missed by her husband, Wayne, of Thorp; three children: Trudy (Donald) Barth of Stanley, Yvonne (Gerald) Susa of Greenwood, and Brian Sondgeroth of Eleva; five grandchildren: Charlotte (Jason) Meyer, Marianne (Christopher) Barth, Cynthia (Andy) Bauer; Connie (Allan) Walter, Charles (Casey) Susa; 12 great-grandchildren: Emily, Sean, Gregory, Rebecca, Marcus, Dillon, Louis, Wayne, Matthew, Lindsey, Michael and Olivia; one brother, Robert Klick of Thorp; one sister, Valeria (Raymond) Teclaw of Thorp; one aunt, Wanda Gulczynski of Minneapolis, MN; nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
