Nickel, Vera (Marriage - 9 June 1938)

Trinity Lutheran church in Unity was the scene of the wedding, Thursday afternoon, June 9th, of Miss Vera Nickel, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Nickel, Unity, and Harold Schade, of that village, son of Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Schade of Milan. The Rev. J. A. Olson read the nuptial vows.

The bride wore a street-length frock of powder-blue crepe with white accessories and a corsage bouquet of pink sweet peas, rosebuds and swansonia.

Miss Mildred Perschke, Unity, and Miss Doris Nelson, Chippewa Falls, attending as bridesmaids, wore street-length crepe frocks in pink and yellow, with white accessories, and wore corsage bouquets of mixed flowers.

The bridegroom was attended by his brother, Everett Schade, Milan, and Donald Schwantes, Spencer.

Miss Myrl Justman and Miss Ivy Meyer sang "I Love You Truly." Mrs. Daisy Haight, Eau Claire, played the wedding marches.

Garden flowers decorated the church and the home of the bride’s parents where the immediate families were entertained at an informal reception and wedding supper. Guests from out-of-town included the bridegroom’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Schade, Everett Schade and Mr. and Mrs. T. A. Zahorka, Milan.

Mr. Schade and his bride will reside in Unity, where the groom operates a garage. The bride taught in Marathon county schools the last 11 years and for the last eight years has been teaching in the Lindbergh school at March Rapids.
