Schield, Frank Peter (23 May 1876 - 11 September 1949)

Frank Schield, 73, of Granton died at 1 o’clock Sunday morning at St. Joseph’s Hospital at Marshfield.

Funeral services were conducted Wednesday morning at 9:30 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church at Neillsville, Fr. John J. Pritzl officiating. Interment will be made in the parish cemetery.

The body lay in state at the Bergemann Funeral Home until the time of service. A rosary service was held at the funeral home at 8 p.m. on Tuesday evening.

Mr. Schield was born May 23, 1876, to Mr. and Mrs. John Schield in Newberg, Wis. He received his education in the schools there. On November 27, 1913, he was married to Anna Kudek at Wayne. They then moved to Clark County, where they have since resided. Mr. Schield was a member of the Holy Name Society of the St. Mary’s Catholic Church.

He is survived by his wife and two daughters, Mrs. Louis (Celia) Barton of West Allis, and Mrs. Vernon (Loretta) Smith of Granton; also nine grandchildren, five brothers; Peter of Kewaskum, Joseph of Neillsville, John of West Bend, Edward of West Bend and Nick of Chicago, and by two sisters; Mrs. John (Mary) Wagner and Mrs. Ann Emmert.

Two sisters preceded him in death.
