Helm, Mr./Mrs. Ferdinand (60th Anniv. - 16 Sept. 1949)

The Ferdinand Helms Married Sixty Years - Mr. and Mrs. Ferdinand Helm celebrated on Friday, September 16, 1949, their sixtieth wedding anniversary. With them were 66 close relatives. The wedding cake of this occasion bore the same center decoration as was used on the original wedding cake 60 years ago.

Mr. Helm is nearing his ninetieth birthday. Mrs. Helm will soon be 80. For the past six years she has been an invalid confined to her bed.

The Helms were married in the old Mapleworks Lutheran Church on September 16, 1889. They set up housekeeping on the farm where they still live a little east of Lynn.

Eight of the nine children born to the Helms are living. They are: Carl of Brillion; Mrs. Elda Bartz of York; Henry of Grant; Mrs. Gertrude Garbisch of Granton; Mrs. Ardina Nowack of Granton; Louis, who with his family, has remained on the home farm; Mrs. Aneta Guenther of Eau Claire. There are 25 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Relatives and close friends present for the anniversary were: Mr. and Mrs. Carl Helm and Ronnie; Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Helm of Brillion; Mr. and Mrs. Bennie Garbisch, Harold, Bernard, Ruth and Reuben; Mr. and Mrs. Leland Reich, Arlene and Kenneth; Mr. and Mrs. Fred Bartz; Mr. and Mrs. Donald Drescher, Sandra and Wayne; Mr. and Mrs. Elwyn Larson; Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Garbisch, Marvin, Erlen, Joyce; Miss Margie Kurk; Mr. and Mrs. Henry Helm and Roger; Mr. and Mrs. Philmore Seefeldt and Randall; Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Nowack and Laura; Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Barth; Mr. and Mrs. Louis Helm, Walter, Norman, Roland and Eldon; Mr. and Mrs. George Guenther, Arlene and Jane; Rev. and Mrs. A. Oswald and Sandra; Mr. and Mrs. Ed Sternitzky; Mr. and Mrs. Erwin Sternitzky; Mr. and Mrs. Lucien Moh; Mr. and Mrs. Louie Nowack; Mrs. Henry Garbisch; Mrs. Louie Ledebuhr of Milwaukee; and Mrs. Hannah Ledebuhr of Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
