Long, Joyce (26 OCT 1946)
The Curtiss (Clark Co., Wis.) Congregational Church was the scene of a lovely church wedding late Saturday afternoon, Oct. 26th, 1946, when Miss Joyce Marie Long, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Sherman Long, became the bride of Lawrence Klemetson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Morris Klemetson. Rev. C. S. Matthews read the nuptial ceremony.
The bride was attractively gowned in a floor length formal of white net with a white satin top. She carried a bridal bouquet of white pompoms and red roses. Attending her as bridesmaids were Dorothy Long and Doris Klemetson.
Dorothy wore a pink formal gown of matching design to the bride’s, as did Doris Klemetson, only that her gown was of a blue shade. Each carried a corsage with streamers.
Mr. Klemetson was attended by his brother Floyd, as best man, and groomsman, Harvey Schoen of Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
At six o’clock that evening a dinner was served at the Curtiss Village Hall. For the occasion the hall was decorated with blue, pink and white crepe paper which was strung from light to light, and a wedding bell hung down from each of the lights. A large wedding cake adorned the bridal party’s table. The dinner was followed by a dance that evening at the hall.
After a honeymoon trip to Nekoosa and Two Rivers the couple will make their home on the Laverne Klemetson farm, north of the Village of Curtiss.
Guests from away that attended the ceremony were: Mr. and Mrs. Norman Schiszik, Lionel Schiszik, Chicago; Mr. and Mrs. George Olson and family of Two Rivers; Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Tauscher, Neillsville; John Rohan, Mr. and Mrs. H. Neuman, Owen; Mr. and Mrs. Howard Neuman and family, Withee; and Mr. and Mrs. Harry Schoen, Milwaukee, and Mr. and Mrs. Paul Eckes and many other relatives of Sherwood, Wis.
