Jensen, Sidsel *Paulsen #2 (3 MAR 1869 - 7 JAN 1947)

An illness of only six days duration proved fatal for Mrs. Niels Jensen (says Nielsen here, but looking at cem. listing and heading of obit it should be Jensen), 78, who passed away at the Victory Hospital at Stanley, on Tuesday, Jan. 7, 1947, after being hospitalized for five days.

Mrs. Jensen (says Nielsen) had been a resident of the Owen (Clark Co. Wis.) community for the past 38 years, moving here in 1909 with her husband from Chicago, and settling on a farm, which occupation they pursued for thirty years, until he passed away in 1938. Since that time she had enjoyed the remaining years of her life at the home of her daughter and family, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Blunck.

She was born in 1869 at Skallerup Mors, Denmark, and is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Peter Krarup, Owen, and Mrs. Herman Blunck and Mrs. Walter Blunck, Withee, besides 12 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, and a host of friends whom she had enjoyed the friendship of for many years.

Funeral services were read Saturday afternoon at 2 o’clock from the Danish Lutheran Church at Withee, with Rev. Bundgaard officiating. Burial was made in the parish cemetery.

Pallbearers were Jim Hansen, Jr., Sigurd Sorenson, Andrew Olsen, Marinus Jensen, Stephen Quist and Viggo Rasmussen.

Among those from away to attend the final rites were, Mr. and Mrs. Russell Haire and Jim Blunck, Minneapolis; Mr. and Mrs. Harold Krarup and Chris Larson and daughter of Thorp.

*Paulsen was taken from a previous obituary entry.
