Zimmer, Phillip P. (21 July 1891 - 1 December 1949)

Funeral services were conducted on Tuesday morning at 8:30 at the Georgas Funeral Home and 9 o’clock at St. Mary’s Catholic Church for Phillip Zimmer, who died at Veterans Administration Hospital at Wood, Wis., December 1, 1949. Burial was made in the Neillsville City Cemetery, Fr. John J. Pritzl officiating.

Rosary services were conducted at the funeral home on Monday evening. Mr. Zimmer was born to Mr. and Mrs. Ben Zimmer at Neillsville July 21, 1891. He attended St. Mary’s Catholic School. He was married to Gladys Free on February 26, 1923, at Neillsville. He worked for the railroad for 23 years before retiring. He entered the veterans’ home at King in April, and in August was transferred to the veterans’ hospital at Wood. He has been seriously ill since August 1.

Mr. Zimmer was a member of Haugen-Richmond post of the American Legion.

Mrs. Zimmer preceded him in death on March 11, 1949. He is survived by two brothers and one sister, George Zimmer of West Bend, Frank J. Zimmer and Mrs. Arne (Helen) Petersen, both of Neillsville.
