NEILLSVILLE -- Mancie "Amber" Karl, 90, of Neillsville died Thursday, Oct. 16, 2008, at her home.

Services for Amber will be at 11 a.m., Tuesday, Oct. 21, 2008, at the United Church of Christ in Neillsville. Interment will be in the Neillsville City Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at the Gesche Funeral Home in Neillsville and from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. Tuesday at the church. Amber was born Oct. 4, 1918, in Clark County, the daughter of Percy and Mabel (Gault) Northup. She married Clifford Karl on Sept. 3, 1946, in Marshfield. Clifford preceded her in death.

Amber became a housewife who enjoyed baking, cooking and sewing for her family, and loved flowers and working in her vegetable garden.

Amber is survived by her sons, Robert, Neillsville, and Wayne, Stoughton; daughter, Linda Aslakson, New Glarus; and her only grandchild.
