Wendt, Charles (2 AUG 1872 - 22 JUN 1947)
Funeral services for Charles Wendt, 74, were conducted by the Rev. I. T. Droegemueller at St. Paul’s Evangelical Church Wednesday at Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.). Burial was in Sylvan Cemetery, Reseburg.
Mr. Wendt died at his home in Thorp shortly after arising at 7 a.m., June 22, 1947, of a heart attack. He had been in apparent good health up tot eh time of his death, relatives said.
He was born in Allegan, Mich., Aug. 2, 1872, and moved to the Thorp community with his parents when he was 11. He lived there to the time of his death.
On Aug. 8, 1899, he married Emma Rusch. Shortly after their marriage they moved to an uncleared 60 acres which they cleared and made into a modern farm.
He is survived by his widow; four daughters, Mrs. Kenneth Nelson, Mrs. Emil Ehlert, Wis. Rapids, Mrs. Otto Severin, Mrs. Edwin Sehler?, Milwaukee; and one son, George, at home. There are 14 grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. William Courier, Withee; and four brothers, William, Owen, John, Longwood, Fred, LaGrande, Ore, and August, Denver, Colorado.
