Davis, Regina Margaret (Tesmer) (8 SEP 1914 - 5 SEP 2013)

Regina Margaret (Tesmer) Davis, 98, died Thursday, Sept. 5, 2013, while at Door County Memorial Hospital.

She was born September 8, 1914, in Colby, daughter of the late Paul and Elizabeth (Orth) Tesmer. She attended St. Mary's Grade School and Colby High School in Colby. Regina and her sons relocated to Wausau in 1955 where she raised the boys, drew a circle of friends, and engaged in many social activities. Regina retired from Packaging Corporation of America in 1977 after 24 years. She was a long-standing member of St. Anne’s Catholic Church. She moved closer to her family in Sturgeon Bay (Door County) in 2008.

Regina was an avid adventurer of the outdoors and spent as much time as possible at the family cottage in Glidden. An enthusiastic cook, she was lauded for her baking. Each fall she baked for weeks to supply her sons and fellow hunters with cookies. She enjoyed various social and birthday clubs and her large circle of friends.

Survivors include one child, Kenneth (Kim) Davis of Sturgeon Bay; grandchildren, Laura (Eric) Davis Roberts, Jason Davis, Tracey Kopeschka; step-grandchild, Shannon Hartel; two great-grandchildren, Grayson and Zoë Roberts; sister-in-laws, Myrtle Kuehling and Audrey Tesmer; and daughter-in-law, Lavonne Casper.

Preceding her in death were her parents; son, James Davis; brother, Sylvester “Boots” Tesmer; brother-in-laws, Richard Kuehling and William (Myrtle) Davis.

Funeral services were held on Monday, Sept. 9, 2013, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Colby with Father David Rybicki presiding. Burial was at St. Mary's Cemetery.

Friends called at the church on Monday from noon until the time of services.

Forbes Funeral Home in Sturgeon Bay and Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home of Colby are assisting the family with arrangements.
