Grinker, Robert C. (3 SEP 1927 - 9 SEP 2013)

Robert C. Grinker, 86, of Dorchester, passed away on Monday, September 9, 2013, at the Colonial Center in Colby.

A memorial service will be held at Peace United Church of Christ in Dorchester on Saturday, September 14, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. Pastor Bonnie Jacque-Gorecki will officiate. A visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at the church on Saturday. Burial will be at the Stetsonville Public Cemetery.

The Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home in Dorchester is assisting the family with arrangements.

Robert C. Grinker, age 86, of Dorchester, passed away on Monday, September 9, 2013 at the Colonial Center in Colby.

Robert was born September 3, 1927 to Charles and Clara (Peissig) Grinker in Chicago, Illinois. He received his education at Lawndale Normal School in the Town of Little Black. Robert helped on his parent’s farm and went out west to do harvest work, while out west he entered the US Army on October 14, 1950 and was discharged on August 13, 1952.

He worked as a welder in Oregon and Milwaukee. Robert married Dorothy Mae Raymond on October 27, 1956 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. They moved to the Town of Little Black in 1958 and he worked as a mechanic for Gelhaus and Brost Chevrolet, Peterson Concrete and Feddick Ford. His last employment was for Creative Automation in Abbotsford as a welder and machinist until the age of 72.

Robert enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing cards, an occasional beer and tinkering with vehicles.

Robert is survived by his wife; Dorothy Grinker of Dorchester, children; Nancy (Jon) Puerner of Wausau, Susan (Randy) Hartl of Dorchester, Michael (Mary) Grinker of Dorchester, Diane Pernsteiner of Medford, Barbara (Jan) Armstrong of Medford, James Grinker of Dorchester, Peggy (Duane) Nowak of Medford and Teri (Trenton Jochimsen) Grinker of Medford, 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. He is further survived by his siblings; John Grinker, George Grinker, Elizabeth Gall, Donald Grinker, Patricia Hamm, Thomas Grinker, Joseph Grinker and Richard Grinker.

He is preceded in death by his parents, a son; Daniel Grinker in 1981 and a brother; William Grinker.
