Nelson, Charles R. (31 MAR 1951 - 31 AUG 2013)

Charles R. Nelson, age 62, of Withee, passed away Saturday, August 31, 2013, at his residence under the care of Hope Hospice and Palliative Care.

Charles was born March 31, 1951 to Reynold and Marian (Asp) Nelson in Marshfield, Wisconsin. He attended Owen-Withee Schools and was a 1969 graduate of Owen-Withee High School. After graduation Charles served in the US Air Force from August 15, 1969 to August 8, 1973, he then worked at the Tampa Tribune in Tampa, Florida for 7 years. He moved back to Withee and worked for AMPI in Abbotsford for 23 years until the plant closed, Charles then worked for manpower for 6 years at various places of employment.

He enjoyed fishing, hunting in the Chequamegon forest, camping at Holcombe and watching football, especially the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Charles is survived by his sons; Sean and David Nelson, significant other; Rita Koplitz of Withee, brother; Tom (Geri Moore) Nelson of Owen, sister; Betty (Jerry) Prepeluh of Owen, aunts, uncles and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Charles is preceded in death by his parents and a sister-in-law; Barb Nelson.

Visitation will be from 2:30 pm until 4:00 pm on Saturday, September 14, 2013 at the Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home in Owen with a service to follow.

Honorary Pallbearers will be; Rob Nelson, Rick Nelson, Bill Nelson, Mike Prepeluh, Dan Prepeluh, Jeff Rasmussen, Roy Koplitz and John Weiler.

In lieu of flowers a memorial can be made to the Clark County Humane Society.

The family would like to thank Hope Hospice and Palliative Care for the wonderful care Charles received.
