Mrs. John Bell, 68, of Humbird died at the Krohn Clinic of Black River Falls Saturday after an illness of several years. Funeral services were conducted Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. from St. John’s Evangelical and Reformed Church at Humbird. The Rev. N. J. Dechant was in charge. The body lay in state at the Georgas Funeral Home in Neillsville until time of service.
Burial was made in the Trinity Cemetery at Fall Creek.
Lena Margaret Judas was born at Plymouth, Mass., February 15, 1882. She came to Medford with her parents as a child and received her education in the schools there. She worked in a boarding house until her marriage to John Bell on February 15, 1899, at Rib Lake. They came to Clark County and settled at Humbird in 1909.
Mr. and Mrs. Bell celebrated their golden wedding anniversary last year.
She is survived by her husband and 10 children: Phillip Bell, Milwaukee; Mrs. Sam (Alice) Fitzmaurice of Humbird; Marion Bell, a missionary in South China; Mrs. Paul (Marcella) Krueger, Fall Creek; Edna Bell, Detroit, Mich.; Mrs. William (Helen) Giloy, Humbird; Mrs. Oliver (Regina) Julisson, Minneapolis; Robert Bell, at home, Mrs. Clarence (Ruth) Giloy, Humbird; Mrs. August (Josephine) Kaufman, Humbird. Three sisters, Mrs. John (Anna) Doyle of Phillips, Mrs. William (Elizabeth) Dothe of Milwaukee and Mrs. R. J. (Frances) Quast of Eau Claire, also survive, as well as 21 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
