Yost, Marjorie A. (18 JUN 1924 - 16 OCT 2008)

Marjorie A. Yost, 84, Marshfield, Wisconsin, died on Thursday, Oct. 16, 2008, in Marshfield Care Center. A memorial service was held at 10:30 a.m., on Monday, Oct. 20, at Christ the King Catholic Church, Spencer.

Marjorie Ann Gries was born on June 18, 1924, in Colby, to Peter and Clara (nee Brost) Gries. She graduated from Colby High School. She married Harold R. Yost on May 16, 1942, in Colby, Wis. She worked as a homemaker and also worked countless other jobs. She was a member of PCCW, American Legion Auxiliary, and antique car club, King’s Food pantry, and was a 4-H leader. She enjoyed quilting, cross stitching, singing, flowers and gardening, sewing and playing sheepshead, but her fondest joy came from being with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include six children, Richard (Helen) Yost, Carthage, N.C., Shirley Wachholz, Marshfield, Nancy (Joe) Hildebrandt, Chili, Mary (Bill) Hebert, Marshfield, Barry (Sharon) Yost, Marshfield, and Thomas Yost, Marshfield; 13 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

Preceding her in death were her loving husband; both parents; three brothers; one son-in-law, Robert Wachholz; and one grandson, Keith Hildebrandt.

A memorial will be established in her name at a later date.

Hansen-Schilling Funeral Home, Marshfield, assisted the family with arrangements.
