Hoff, Myrtle (2 AUG 1947)

Now on their honeymoon in Michigan and Ohio are Mr. and Mrs. Howard Stoltenberg, who were married at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Curtiss, by the groom’s brother, Rev. Jerome Stoltenberg, Madison, S.D., on Saturday, Aug. 2, 1947.

The bride is the former Miss Myrtle Hoff, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Hoff, Curtiss (Clark Co., Wis.), and the groom is the son of Mrs. Hannah Stoltenberg, Nelsonville.

The bride chose Miss Cassie Raasoch, Nelsonville, to be her maid of honor, and Norman Jacobson, Irma, was the best man. Two nieces of the bride, Karen Boardman, Thorp, and Jane McCorisson, Curtiss, were flower girls. Harley Hoff, brother of the bride, and John McCorisson, brother-in-law of the bride, ushered. The bride’s sister, Mrs. John McCorisson, was the organist.

The bride was gowned in white chiffon, and wore a fingertip veil with a net headdress, accented with orange blossoms from her mother’s bridal headdress. She carried a bouquet of yellow roses and white gladioli.

The maid of honor wore a white marquisette dress, and carried a bouquet of orchid and yellow gladioli. The flower girls wore white marquisette dresses and carried bouquets of yellow gladioli and white carantions.

A wedding dinner was served at 6 p.m. to 50 guests at the Woodland Hotel, Owen, and the bridal couple left immediately following the dinner for their honeymoon.

The groom, who served with the Marines, is a graduate of the Amherst High School and is a Standard Oil agent at Nelsonville, where the couple will make their home. The bride, who is a graduate of the Abbotsford High School, Central State Teachers College, Stevens Point, and River Forest Teachers College, River Forest, Ill., taught for the past years at Immanuel Lutheran Parochial School, Minneapolis, Min., having taught at Nelsonville, Scandinavia, and Owen previously.
