Loeper, Elaine L. (13 SEP 1947)

Marriage vows were exchanged by Elaine Lois Loeper, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Herbert A. Loeper, Withee (Clark Co., Wis.), and Edwin Karl Kuenzel, son of Mr. and Mrs. Edwin C. Kuenzel, Milwaukee, at a ceremony performed at the St. John’s Lutheran Church at Withee, Saturday, Sept. 13, 1947. The ceremony was read at 10 a.m. by the Rev. Walter Schedler. Sidney Toraason, Owen, was the organist and Eugene Koplitz sang "I Love You Truly" and the "Lord’s Prayer."

The bride approached the altar of the church in the arm of her father, wearing a gown of white silk that was purchased by the groom during his military stay in the Orient. Its design was princess style with long sleeves, a Queen Anne collar and a short train with a fingertip veil. She carried an all white shower bouquet of Madonna lilies, roses and carnations.

Attending her were two sisters, June, as maid of honor and Janice as bridesmaid. June’s gown was of blue moiré taffeta while Janice’s was of fuchsia moiré taffeta. They both carried Dutch bouquets of roses, carnations and gladiolas.

Attending the groom as best man was his father and both wore grey business suits.

A diner was served to the bridal party and their guests immediately following the ceremony, after which the newlyweds left on a honeymoon trip through northern Wisconsin.

The bride is a graduate of Rufus King High School in Withee and also of the Milwaukee Hospital School of Nursing. For the past several years she has been serving as a visiting nurse with the Visiting Nurse Association of Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

The bridegroom is also a graduate of the Rufus King High School at Milwaukee and the School of Mining at Houghton, Michigan. He is employed as a metallurgist in Milwaukee, where they will make their home.

Among the guests that attended the wedding ceremony were: Mr. and Mrs. Edwin C. Kuenzel and Miss June Loeper, Milwaukee; Mrs. Eleanor Farnham, Shortwood; Mr. and Mrs. Harold Mathiak, and son and daughter, of Horicon.
