Johnson, J. Otto (14 APR 1884 - 30 SEP 1947)

J. Otto Johnson, prominent farmer from Forks, Montana and a son of Mrs. Louis Johnson, Owen (Clark Co., Wis.), succumbed to a lengthy illness Tuesday night, Sept. 30, 1947, at the Survant Hospital. Funeral services were held at the Whitewater Lutheran Church, Friday, Oct. 3, at two o’clock and burial was made in the Forks Cemetery.

He was born April 14, 1884, at Badger Mills, Wis. He attended grade and high school there, and attended the Northland College at Ashland, Wis.. He taught school in Wisconsin and spent a year in North Dakota before homesteading at Forks, Montana in 1913. He was married at Malta in 1918 to Miss Maude L. Matson, who survives him.

Survivors include his wife, a son Otto Keith of Forks, his mother, Mrs. Louis Johnson, Owen, a sister, Clara of Reno Nevada and two brothers, Carl of Mellen, Wis. and Edwin of Delta, Wis.
