Nimbar, Erma V. #3 (25 OCT 1947)

Nuptial vows were exchanged by Miss Erma V. Nimbar, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Nimbar, Withee (Clark Co., Wis.), and Laverne W. Brown, son of Mrs. Hazel Brown, Greenwood, at a lovely church wedding ceremony performed at the Congregational Church, Owen. Rev. M. G. Glick read the matrimonial ceremony at two o’clock, Saturday afternoon, Oct. 25th, 1947.

The bride approached the altar of the church attractively gowned in a bridal choice of creamy white satin with a white illusion fingertip veil. The dress was cut with a sweetheart neckline trimmed in seeded pearls and rhinestones. She wore a single strand of pearls with matching earrings and carried a bouquet of cream colored roses and white mums tied with a yellow ribbon.

Attending her were: Mrs. Rex Palmer, matron of honor, and bridesmaids Mrs. Harold Kuehn and Mrs. Joe De Rouin. Mrs. Palmer wore a gold dress while the other two attendants wore dresses of deep teal blue. All wore single strand pearls and matching earrings given to them as gifts of the bride. They carried bouquets of roses and mums. Flower girls were Julia Ann Palmer and Margaret Fliehr, both of whom wore French organdy dresses over white satin slips. The dresses were set off with shadow embroidery work and each had a white flower headdress.

The groom was attended by Lee M. Jackson as best man and groomsmen, Harold Kuehn and Joe De Rouin. All of the men wore dark business suits.

The church parlors were attractively decorated with large baskets of fall flowers, candles and matching bridal napkins as a part of the decorations at the bridal table where a reception was given for the newlyweds immediately following the ceremony.

The bride is a graduate of the Withee High School with the class of 1941, and has attended the Eau Claire Vocational School where she studied a business course.

The groom is a graduate of the Greenwood Public School system, having graduated in 1939. Since that time he has learned the barbering trade and is now in business at Greenwood where the couple are establishing their future home.

Among the guests attending the wedding were: Mr. and Mrs. Charles Judd, Oaklawn, Ill.; Miss Winifred Van Gorder, Mr. and Mrs. J. G. Califf, Eau Claire, Mrs. Nelta Warner, Mr. and Mrs. Warren Jacobs, Mr. and Mrs. Stephen Warner, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Fliehr and daughter Margaret, all of Chippewa Falls; Laverne Firnstermacher, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Kulwiec, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Horn, Mr. and Mrs. Isaac Sisco, Mrs. Bobbs, Mrs. Chester Glasshoff and Mrs. Ed Lund, all of thorp; Mrs. Hazel Brown, Mrs. Margret Gates, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Murphy and family, Mr. and Mrs. Ken Rogers, Mr. and Mrs. James Plank, Mr. and Mrs. Delbert Busch, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Behrens and son of Greenwood; Mr. and Mrs. Ed Hoyt of Oregon, and Mr. and Mrs. Harold Murphy of Neillsville.

A bridal shower was given the young couple at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Behrens at Greenwood, the Saturday preceding the wedding.
